worlds & times
Three worlds are mentioned in Valkyrie Profile (Alfheim, Asgard, and Midgard mostly), along with some of the major areas and time events that occur in Norse Mythology. The worlds are split into 3 levels, I guess from top (heaven, in Christain terms) and bottom (hell).
The First Level
Asgard- World of the Aesir
Vanaheim- World of the Vanir
Alfheim- World of the Light Elves
The Second Level
Midgard- Lan of the Humans
Nidavellir- Land of the Dwarves
Jotunheim- Land of the Giants
Svartalfheim- Land of the Dark Elves
The Third Level
Hel- Goes with Niflheim
Niflheim- World of the Dead
Key Areas
Yggdrasil- The world tree that connects all worlds together.
Bifrost- The rainbow bridge that connects Asgard to Midgard.
RAGNAROK
Basically the Norse version of "end of the world", but instead "doom of all gods". The sign will be Fimbulvetr, the winter of all winters, 3 winters in a row without summer. Everybody in all the worlds begin to quarell, and three cocks summon Gods, Giants, and the dead to fight on a scared battlefield. Everybody, Elves, Dwarves, Demons... Join in on the battle too. Many die, and few gods live, but it is said that the after the new world rises from the sea, Gods and humans will live happily.
